World Peace, Fight Hate and Discrimination
It is important to fight hate and discrimination in all areas. We have to ensure the safety, stability, and prosperity of all people, fostering cooperation, development, and the realisation of our shared human potential. We cannot allow our leaders to continue peddling the politics of fear and division.
NHS and Healthcare
As a healthcare professional, I am passionate about our NHS. Our national treasure requires urgent attention to improve efficiency services and working conditions. I am committed to implementing clear policies for improving GP appointments and support for greater funding.
Cost of Living
Everyone is feeling the pinch at the moment, but sadly, for some, it is more severe than that. In 2019, Leicester was the 18th most deprived area out of 316 Local Authorities, with one in five people facing the fundamental dilemma of whether to eat or heat. Tackling the Cost Of Living Crisis for the people of Leicester is one of my priorities.
Housing
Addressing the shortage of habitable properties and the unacceptable waiting lists, which can stretch up to five years, is a scandal. I am committed to tackling these issues along with the problem of rogue landlords.
Youth and Education
Our youth are our future, and we must ensure we give them the best opportunity to thrive. Schemes that enhance young people's skills will be promoted, and avenues to improve employability will be explored. Special attention will be paid to the less abled and disadvantaged.
Business and Economic Development
As a small business owner in our community, I understand the hurdles of entrepreneurship firsthand. It's imperative that we implement clear and vigorous strategies to enhance our city's business landscape. I am dedicated to advocating for local businesses and revitalising our international reputation to position Leicester as a desirable hub for commerce.
Community Safety and Crime Prevention
Creating safe and harmonious communities is a shared aspiration for all of us. While increased Police visibility is crucial, it's just one aspect of achieving this goal. Collaborating with outreach programs in schools and colleges to educate about the risks of crime, particularly drug-related offences and knife violence, is equally vital. Additionally, fostering open and amicable dialogues with all segments of our diverse city population is essential. Our commonality far outstrips our differences.
Climate Emergency
A genuine commitment to work with national and local partners to develop renewable energy projects and simultaneously promote initiatives that boost employment and productivity. We have one world, and we are running out of time to save it

I have seen the impact of neglect on our environment as we fail to take the necessary steps to protect and preserve it for future generations. But I also believe that Leicester South is a city of immense potential. We are a diverse and vibrant community, rich in culture and history. We have a strong sense of community spirit and a willingness to work together to overcome challenges. I believe that by harnessing these strengths and working together, we can build a brighter future for our city.
